Regenerate a suggestion

Status: built 2026-10-21, ready for dev 2026-10-21 (HANDOFF.md). A recipe: it has no API of its own.

Problem

An agent's suggestion is not always right. People need to ask for a different one (retry) and still be able to go back to an earlier attempt. The Suggestion Card has the slots for this, but nothing shows how to use them.

Proposal

A recipe, not a component: one interactive story that composes the Suggestion Card (single choice), the Button and the PDS Compact Pagination.

  • Regenerate is a secondary button with a rotate icon in the card's actionsStart. It shows the Button's working state while the agent replies.
  • The new set of options replaces the rows and the view jumps to it.
  • Once there is more than one set, the Compact Pagination (static, "1 of 2") sits in actionsEnd. Each set remembers its own selection.

Out of scope for now

Where the pager sits (footer or header), announcing the change of set to screen readers, and whether an accepted card keeps the pager.
