Decisions: Event log with agent
Append as you go, newest last. Record choices someone could reasonably question later, not every edit.
It is a recipe, not a component
- Decision: a story and Usage page under
Recipes/Event log with agent, with no code of its own. - Why: where the agent starts and stops, the divider wording and which entries are agentic are screen decisions. A component would need props for each and would break for a log with two agent runs or none. Decided with Erika 2026-10-16; a
TimelineGroupcan be added if the same region keeps being rebuilt. - Port impact: none beyond the components it uses. The engineer copies the composition.
Both ends use the same divider
- Decision: the region is bracketed by two agentic
LabeledDividers ("Zappy engaged", "Zappy finished"), the gradientagenticstyling (since 2026-10-21; it was the purpleagentic-filledbefore, which the designer removed after comparing). Two stories: the agent still working (aThinkingStateis the live last entry, no closing divider) and finished (a done item and the closing divider). - Why: the end of a region should be as visible as the start. Wording and icons are the screen's.
- Port impact: none.
Dividers are xs
- Decision: both
LabeledDividers in the recipe usesize='xs'. - Why: the
sdefault is too big next to the rows (Erika, 2026-10-16). The component default stayss; the recipe setsxs. - Port impact: none. Say so in the Usage page so the engineer copies it.
Open questions
- Which agentic divider styling the Labeled Divider component keeps (gradient border or filled) is decided on that proposal, not here. The recipe uses the filled one.
- Does the region need a tint or bracket between the dividers, beyond
isAgenticand the dividers? Not needed for this release; the recipe ships without one (designer to revisit).
The gradient tone replaces the purple (2026-10-21)
- Decision: the designer compared the gradient
agenticdividers next to the purpleagentic-filledones and kept the gradient; the purple tone was removed from the Labeled Divider, and the recipe's two stories use the gradient. The comparison stories (Agent Working Gradient,Agent Finished Gradient,Compare Tones) were removed. The Zappy bolt on the divider is black (see the Labeled Divider). - Port impact: none.
- Closed: which tone the dividers use.
